Evertz 3G/HD Down Converters with Optional Embedded Compact Flash

The 7812HDC-HD and 7812HDC-AES8-HD are Broadcast Quality Down Converters that convert between common HD/SMPTE 292M and common SD/SMPTE 259M video signals. The -3G versions of these cards, convert common HD/SMPTE 252M and common single/dual link 1920x1080p 59.94/50 to common SD/SMPTE 259M video signals. These modules support frame synchronization and external genlock inputs for video timing adjustment. FRAME REF inputs on the 7700FR-G and the 7800FR are also supported.

The 7812HDC series of converters incorporate a new generation of signal processing technology. Mosquito Noise Reduction (MNR) and Block Artifact Reduction (BAR) are supported in addition to per pixel motion adaptive spatial-temporal noise reduction. The 7812HDC series also incorporate new de-interlacing technologies for superior resolution and artifact reduction.

The 7812HDC series support broadcast quality scaling and offer standard as well as user defined aspect ratio conversions. These modules support AFD based steering of aspect ratio conversion and can stamp AFD signals on the output video. Transitions between AFD modes are frame accurate and glitch free.

With the +F option, signals supplied to the second program input can be keyed into the un-used portions of the output image raster (ie. side panels typically generated with converting 4:3 to 16:9).

FILL inputs are frame synchronized so that pre-timing of FILL inputs is not required. With the +CF2G option, static/animated side panels (loaded using the card's Ethernet port) can be stored locally and keyed into image side-panels.

Wide range video proc and detail enhancement functions are integrated in the 7812HDC series products. These include YCbCr gain/offset, RGB gain and RGB color legalization controls. Hue, Sat and Brightness controls are also supported. Color space conversions between ITU rec. 709 and ITU rec. 601 are performed as needed. Per component control over RGB gamma is also available.

The 7812HDC series support 16 channels of embedded audio. Embedded audio is automatically processed so audio delay matches video delay. Additional audio delay is also available. Full audio proc capabilities are supported including per channel audio gain, audio routing/channel swapping and inversion control. Surround sound (5.1 PCM) to stereo down-mixing is supported (Lt/Rt or LoRo). With the 7812HDC-AES8-HD and the 7812HDC-AES8-3G, 8x discrete AES inputs and 8x AES outputs are supported. AES outputs carry the same audio that is being embedded. On -AES8 versions, stereo to 5.1 up-mixing is also supported with the +UMX option. These modules transfer closed caption and time information from input to output performing all HD to SD data translations and time code re-calculations.
